Alberi e Case

Inside of the faculty building of campus Leonardo designed by Vittorio Vigano, between the columns of the exhibition space as well as inside the passage made out prefabricated concrete elements which spans from the exhibition space to the entrance on the opposite side of the patio, a series of projects are exhibited, which deal with the relation of the built and vegetation.

Exhibited are the project series: Plateaux Selvage, Pensare in Negativo, Un rifugio nel bosco and Un cocktailbar in un frutteto.

In the main space of the exhibition 8 projects of the series Un cocktailbar in un frutteto are presented through their maquette as well as their corresponding drawings. The maquette is placed on their transport boxes, made out of pinewood plywood, while each drawing is placed on a table like structure.

This structure consists of 2 wooden boards, 4 short and 1 long aluminum tube as well as a large sheet of 3-waved cardboard. The 2 wooden boards are placed on their sides, joint in their centre to form an X. They are the base of the structure. On their outer ends 2 vertical holes have been drilled. On each end of both axises one of the 4 short aluminum tubes is inserted and the large sheet of cardboard is placed above the upper end of these legs. The drawings are placed above the board and held in place by a small object designed by Sara Galli just for this drawing. In the cardboard of one table per project a hole is cut above the second hole in the wooden X beneath and the 1 metre long aluminum rod is inserted inside the hole beneath in order to traverse the hole in the cardboard without touching it. In the upper part of this tube a sheet of paper of the size of an A5 is attached, resembling a flag flying in the wind. It is fixed on the pole only by folding the sheet of paper around the pole and fixing it in itself in some well-placed cuts. On this sheet of paper all the necessary data about the project can be found such as: the name of the project, the name of the author, the composition of the orchard, the recipe of the drink origination in the orchard as well as the corresponding playlist.

On a large table near the entrance to the passage the drawings of the project series plateaux selvage as well as several maquette of the series Pensare in Negativo are placed.

The passage is transformed into some sort of photographic studio. The existing lighting is turned off and the two installation tracks on the ceiling of this long space are used to hang-up the drawings of the exercise series Un rifugio nel bosco, which had been carried out on tracing paper. Behind each sheet one or more small led lights are placed, in such a way, as to guide our gaze to the most important parts of the drawing.
