When entering the exhibition “Acqua e Architettura” someone enters a completely different world. Inside the exhibition space appear 25 cardboards 125 x 83 cm in size, which are suspended at heights between 20 and 60 cm above ground in a structure based almost exclusively on tension.

3 of these cardboards are suspended by blue-coloured cords and carry the drawings of the project series Intra Muros, 11 are suspended by yellow coloured cords and display the drawings of 3 projects from the project series Habitat, while the remaining 11 boards, which carry the drawings of 4 projects of the project series “Una Risotteria in Risaia”, are suspended by white coloured cords. Small artifices such as small buoys, small weights from fishing nets and other elements with a nautical background, change the course of the cords, altering the resulting appearance of the structure to something which carries resemblance to an underwater ambience defined by the sudden appearance of a field of seaweed.

Beneath all these hanging boards there is the continuity of the ground, orange for the main part, dark blue in the rear section of the space. The drawings of the project series Habitat are complemented by 4 maquettes, which are placed on lightweight wooden structures anchored by small volumes of concrete to the ground. The maquette of the project series “Una Risotteria in Risaia” on the other hand are put in sequence, one after the other, on a 3 m long, 46 cm low table.

The only other element inside the exhibition space is a massive white exhibition table of slightly awkward dimensions, which carries a collection of 54 small white paper sculptures. The corresponding drawings of these small envelopes are projected on a large screen on the other side of the space.

The extraordinary richness of different constructive details, of how things are connected and hold together, together with the different works presented in the exhibition renders the visit an incredibly refreshing experience.
