Saluti e Baci
Saluti e Baci
workshop
This workshop was developed in occasion of an edition of Abitare’s FestArc, which took place in the marvelous city of Perugia during summer 2012. The workshop loosely followed the theme of the festival: Cities within Cities and saw students from Politecnico di Milano as well as other universities in action.

What simpler way of greeting someone could there be then carefully choosing a postcard and sending it? Buying 30 postcards of Perugia ought to be enough. The only criteria for their selection: no special effects, just the spaces and buildings of Perugia. Postcards offering glimpses of the city, but also works of architecture ready to travel around the world.

It does not take much to design a space: 1 cut, 1 fold, 1 addition of colour. The work is done analogically, using hands, paper of different qualities and glue to carry out real actions on the postcards and, consequently, on the architecture and the space of the city of Perugia, in order to try out micro-interventions on different scales and in different dimensions.

By adding or taking away, small changes are planned: additions or micro-infrastructures capable of varying the use and perception of space. Physical implementations that make places accessible which would not be so otherwise, that offer views which would be impossible to actually experience, that give a new identity to places, alluding to new functions aimed at the young and not so young guests of the city of Perugia. And not just them.
